Set up once. It answers from then on.
There's nothing to train. You give it the same information you'd give a new member of staff on their first day.
Five steps to go live
- 1
Sign in with Google
Create your business account. Invite your staff later, each with their own Google sign-in.
- 2
Tell it about your business
Choose your type of business, then add your hours, delivery or visit rules, policies and common questions. Upload documents if you already have them written.
- 3
Add what you sell
Products or services, with a fixed price, a starting price or price on request, plus any options and details. These records are the only place the agent gets prices and availability from.
- 4
Connect your WhatsApp number
Link your business number through Meta's own sign-up flow. Your Click-to-WhatsApp ads keep pointing to the same number.
- 5
Test it, then switch it on
Ask the agent anything from a private test chat. Adjust the rules until you're happy, then turn it on.
Questions owners ask
Does it only work for shops?
No. It suits any business that gets customers from Meta ads into WhatsApp, including clinics, property, courses, restaurants and service businesses. You choose your type of business, and the wording and suggestions follow it.
What if I don't have fixed prices?
Each item can have a fixed price, a starting price, or a price on request. For price on request, the agent collects what the customer needs and passes the chat to your team.
Can it give the wrong price?
Prices and availability are read directly from your catalogue when the agent replies. If something has no price or isn't in your data, the agent says so or brings in your staff.
What if a customer wants to talk to a person?
The chat's status changes to Needs staff and your team is notified. You reply from the dashboard and the customer stays in the same WhatsApp chat.
Will it chat about anything?
No. It answers general questions briefly and politely, then returns to your business. WhatsApp doesn't allow general-purpose AI chatbots, and a focused agent sells better anyway.
Can it message customers days later?
WhatsApp lets a business reply freely for 24 hours after a customer's last message. After that, only pre-approved template messages can be sent, and those are charged by Meta.
Can it handle voice notes and photos?
This isn't in the first version. It's planned, because customers send plenty of both. Until then, those chats can go to your staff.
Can it take payments?
Not in the first version. It makes the booking and records how the customer wants to pay, such as cash on delivery or paying at your premises.
I run more than one business. Is that OK?
Yes. Each one has its own catalogue, chats, bookings and staff, and they never mix. You can switch between them from the dashboard.
